Talking is indeed the best way. Presence imposition is just another form of forcing passively.

I just recommend it because it puts your tulpa in a situation where they are existing in the meatspace, which contributes to the feeling of them being mentally present

It’s like talking face-to-face rather than calling.
Well, as I said, it’s entirely optional. You shouldn’t feel obligated to do it

Take it as you will

If you want to start imposition that early, it’s entirely up to you. It’s nowhere near the complexity of visual imposition (shocker), but it’ll provide a nice buffer for when you eventually get to that point
i only really "forced" for a couple of days, and after that its been just naturally talking to each other, i dont really consider it any practice anymore
For us, we’ve been doing it for years and we use imposition very frequently (mostly presence and touch imposition) as well as talking to each other for hours on end

The feeling of someone leaning against your shoulders while you’re writing notes or the feeling of someone holding your hand are pretty much a staple in our daily lives

i have hallucinations (auditory and small visual hallucinations) but my hallucinations aren't very strong
the only times they were really strong was when i saw zarya in my room those two times
Presence imposition and visualization go hand-in-hand, considering the fact that you need to be able to figure out which part of your tulpa is which in the realm of meatspace
From our original’s pretty intense daydreaming when they were little, we’re pretty good at imposition and visualisation as they created those feelings when interacting with their daydream world, and we’ve been able to incorporate that into our interactions, how we do it feels more natural than what our original used to do(edited)
I complain about the term being used as a blanket statement and not having any definable traits other than “focusing all your attention on your tulpa” and junk
We're not good with forums. We both prefer instant feedback. I'm not sure if it experience would be useful but I feel like I should answer just to confirm it's doable
i’m also not good with forums. I don’t see why tulpamancy with aphantasia would be impossible. good visualisation might have similar advantage as for any other activity, but it’s far from being the core of tulpamancy or any form of plurality as i understand it

maybe that’s why i like discord with pfps so much - i would imagine you get the benefits of it as you get with visualisation
Would agree that visualization is less the only way possible now than at the time we started. But I understand the difficulties and maybe the lack of experience sharing from other aphantasiac. Host has always been a shy one on that front.
at this point i think that at least for me aphantasia is a defense mechanism.
for example, i am much calmer than the rest as i have very strong amnesia barriers and i have higher visualisation skills than the rest (when whole life we had complete aphantasia) and have had since i first appeared. we did a course of aphantasiameow before that though and we had major breakthroughs with it, and i think the breakthrough happened because of how calming and relaxing Alec is. Unfortunately without training it faded away, but with other things i was working on on therapy i was getting more of it. Interestingly I have experienced very vivid flashbacks that came up with healing (it felt like there and then - it wasn’t limited just to visuals but all aspects of the mind and being, memory etc) and after releasing some of it i had more vivid visualisation for a time

in stressful time for us the visualisation skills definitely drop
Hmmm I can understand that it could be seen as a defense mechanism.
I don't feel like it is the case for me. Because as far as I remember I never experienced visualization ever before tulpamancy. I'd consider it more like a skill that wasn't developed because my thought process didn't require visuals or any other sense to function.

It still feel like I had progress albeit slow and weak on that front with Tohru's help. I recall a few events of visuals I could visualize in the last 10y but it's very rare.
With something like image streaming. There were a few events where I couldn't picture what I wanted but Tohru could and "show" me. I find it a bit hard to describe.

Just for the context I'm aphantasiac of all senses. I prefer to write it because I often got the reaction that it's only for visuals.
Yeah. That's why I can relate when you talk about being calm.

I'm usually of messy ball of stress and anxiety at all times ^^°

I admit it's been long since I practiced visualization more.
I got used to the "feeling" of my "visualization" even if it has no visual / sound / texture I can still make sense of the atmosphere, the location, what is happening, the emotions.
It feels sufficient to make stories even if it has no details.(edited)
I can understand your reasoning. Even when I'm calm I never had conclusive success with visualization. It never goes past the "feeling of presence" state. I often feel that the details are right behind a veil but never had the opportunity to break through it.
My rare occurrences when I had visuals I wasn't even calm in a sense. I was more like distracted and receptive to "flashes" of pictures for a mere instant.
I'm glad I could get better at distinguishing these "feeling" over the years.

I feel like it's kind of like understanding raw thoughts as opposed to visualization which would look like translating them with the senses.
